1. Product Overview
FRPP (Fiber Reinforced Polypropylene) Board is an extruded composite sheet made from polypropylene resin and reinforcing fibers (such as glass fibers). The fibers significantly increase stiffness and strength while maintaining much of PP’s excellent chemical resistance. This makes FRPP boards especially suitable for large-size equipment or structures where standard PP may deform too much under load or temperature.
- Composite structure: Polypropylene matrix with distributed reinforcing fibers for improved mechanical performance.
- Flat board form: Good flatness and uniform thickness, suitable for welding into tanks and equipment shells.
- Consistent quality: Industrial production ensures stable mechanical and chemical properties from lot to lot.
2. Key Features of FRPP Board
Mechanical & Structural Performance
- High stiffness: Significantly higher modulus than standard PP sheets, helping reduce panel deflection under load.
- Improved strength: Better load-bearing capability for tank walls, towers, ducts and structural panels.
- Reduced creep and deformation: Under long-term load or elevated temperatures, FRPP maintains shape better than non-reinforced PP.
Chemical Resistance & Service Environment
- Chemical resistance: Suitable for many inorganic acids, alkalis and salts used in chemical processing, pickling, plating and wastewater treatment.
- Corrosion-free: Will not rust like metal and does not introduce metal ions into the medium.
- Moisture resistance: Low water absorption; suitable for humid, splash and immersion environments.
Processing & Fabrication
- Weldable material: FRPP boards can be hot-air welded or butt welded, allowing fabrication of tanks, ducts, scrubbers and complex equipment.
- Machinable: Can be cut, drilled, routed and CNC machined using standard plastic-fabrication tools.
- Surface finish: Smooth or lightly textured surface for easier cleaning and better appearance.
3. Typical Applications
- Chemical tanks and towers: Large storage tanks, reaction tanks, absorption towers and washing towers where higher stiffness is required.
- Exhaust and ventilation systems: Corrosion-resistant exhaust ducts, flues, elbows, scrubber housings and ventilation boxes.
- Wastewater and environmental equipment: Structural panels and linings for treatment tanks, channels, covers and environmental protection units.
- Surface treatment & plating lines: Etching, pickling and plating tanks, overflow weirs and splash guards.
- General industrial structures: Load-bearing panels, equipment frames, machine guards and protective walls in corrosive environments.
